Trail Runner/Fisherman
During his high school, university and corporate team days, Toru ran many Ekiden relay races as a representative of Hokkaido, including during the Annual Inter-Prefectural and Izumo Ekiden. He currently works as a third generation fisherman in his hometown of Betsukai, Hokkaido. His aim is to become "the fastest and strongest fisherman trail runner in Japan."

TAKAYA KATAOKA
Skier/SAJ National Ski Demonstrator
Born in Otaru, Hokkaido. Since childhood, he has been skiing and took part in Junior Ski Technique Championships. After that, he entered Hokkaido University and joined a competitive skiing club. While competing in the the Ski Technique Championships, he also worked on alpine skiing. In winter, he coaches junior students to help the next generation. His latest achievement was the 13th place in the 2021 Japan Ski Technique Championships.

Trail RunnerBorn and based in Hokkaido, he is one of the top trail runners in the island. He leads many local trail runners and is now taking part on challenges outside Japan. He won his first international race, "Tiger Balm 2019", in Thailand.

YASUE NAGAHAMA
Trail Runner
She lives in Aichi prefecture and began to be interested in marathons when she heard of the first Nagoya Women's Marathon. Since then, she started trail running and after hard training, won the 2015 OSJ Series Women's Champ. She's fascinated by the long trail races and enjoys nature on a daily basis.

Cross Country Skiing
He started cross-country skiing at a young age. During the 2011 Asian Winter Games, he won a silver medal in the 4 x 10-kilometre relay event with his team. He competed at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo. In 2017, he won a gold medal in the relay as a representative of Japan at the Asian Games. Currently based in Toyama prefecture, he is an active sportsman and also focuses on community activities.

YUKA SETO
Ski Jump
At the age of 17, she took part in her first FIS Ski Jumping World Cup and managed to achieve the 32nd place. After graduating from high school, she worked with a ski jumping gold medalist, Kazuyoshi Funaki, for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics in 2018. Currently, she is a member of Hokkaido High-Tech AC and aims to participate in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.

Sprint Canoe
She was born in Hokkaido and currently lives in Hungary. She started competitions in canoe sprinting since junior high school and went to Europe to compete for the Paris Olympics 2024. She's studying at a university in Hungary and training with a Beijing Olympic gold medalist. She's aiming to be the first Japanese medalist in canoe sprint in an international competition.

Orienteering/Trail Runner
She entered orienteering at an early age and became the youngest junior representative for Japan at 14 years old. After that, she became a senior representative during 3x years: 2013, 2018 and 2021. She uses her skills in various navigation sports such as mountain marathons and rogaining.

"Big Mountain Skier" from Hokkaido, known as Yamakix.He climbs and slides on domestic and foreign mountains from 5000m+ class mountains like La Paz, 6088m in Bolivia.He is also passionate about guiding stories and the enjoyment of nature through skiing.

KENICHI YAMAMOTO
Trail Runner/Skier
He was born in Yamanashi Prefecture in 1979. After 17 years of teaching in school, he became a professional mountain athlete. He has participated in numerous trail races as a trail runner. Mr Yamamoto took third place, the top spot for Japan, in “Ultra-Trail Mt. Fuji” in May 2012, and in August of that year, he became the first Japanese person to win the “Grand Raid of the Pyrenees.”
